It’s one thing when a man makes a woman “crinkle-nose laugh.” It’s another when he commits to her and her two beautiful kids. But what really gets me, is when he gets her…the girl he had a crush on in high school…the girl of his dreams. When he gets her and she becomes his beautiful bride…now that is just one of the best things in the world.

Stephen & Bridgette have known each other since they were teenagers. Their families welcomed everyone with open arms. And with giggles, sweet sentiments and cozy, crinkle-nose laughs, they said yes to their forever over-looking the spectacular view of the Hartbeespoort dam.

Normally I get to meet my couples long before the wedding day. But with Stephen overseas in the lead-up to the wedding, this was a little harder than usual. A little part of me was a little nervous…grooms aren’t always the most excited to be photographed. But the minute I met Stephen {his arms full of flowers, sneakers running to help his bride set up & the biggest grin on his face}, I knew it was going to be just fine. And that grin…well let’s just say it turned just fine into totally beaming…all day.

Stephen & Bridgette, thank you for flying me in to tell your story. I adore travelling to shoot. I fall in love more with JHB light every time I’m there. But I will always treasure the reminder your day gave me, of perhaps the most important facets of life: family, acceptance & love.

Mr & Mrs Van Vuuren {& Leila & Kieran}, I wish you all a lifetime of crinkle-nose laughing, fun {UK} living & big dreaming.

All my love, Chris

xx
