What a sweet summer celebration these two had at Hernder Estate and Stone Mill in St. Catherines. From our first chat about their day, time just seemed to fly leading up to their inter-continental celebration. Together, these two tackle life across the oceans from family and friends in Australia, him saving lives as a trauma doctor and her moulding them as a teacher. After more than a decade together and a sweet bike ride, Joel asked, Catherine said a giant yes and the planning of their wedding back on Canadian soil kicked into high gear.

After a morning of mimosas, Catherine met Joel for an intimate first look before they became Mr & Mrs during a perfect outdoor ceremony and then this pair laughed and smooched their way into the afternoon. It’s seriously my favourite when a couple includes me in the timeline planning of the day from the start. Between the ceremony and cocktail hour, we had a couple of hours to get creative in the cellar at Hernder Estate, head to Rodman Hall for family photos and still had a stress-free amount of time to grab so many sweet moments of the two of them together…the size of this blog post is testimony to the time we had. After beating out the rain, we headed over to Stone Mill for an evening of sentimental speeches, the sweetest of first dances and some delicious wedding cake made especially for the bride and groom by their lovely MOH.

With sentimental touches sprinkled through the day, the thing that stood out to me most about these two was the way they still steal looks at each other after a decade of doing life together. In her speech, Catherine told Joel that her absolute favourite part of the day was when he came through the door after a day of work and she gets to hop up and give him a huge hug.

Mr & Mrs Krahn, I wish you a lifetime of the small stuff, the good stuff and the stuff that brings you together with your loved ones as often as possible. Thank you for sharing your story with me!
