I can barely believe it’s already been a week since Mark & Maria’s wedding on the banks of the mighty Zambezi river. This time last week we had already spent three glorious days in Victoria Falls, and had photographed this mini engagement shoot, Maria’s hen’s cruise and their beautiful rehearsal dinner at The Boma – a truly African experience for both their local & international guests. If this is the first time you are meeting Mark & Maria, let me fill you in a little.

Maria is from Zimbabwe, and holds the country very close to her heart. She met Mark in Ireland, where they now live & love. When Mark popped down on one knee & the wedding planning began, there was no other option in their minds as a perfect location. So after much discussion {and an amazingly designed, detailed wedding website for all their guests}, Mark & Maria, and 40 of their family & friends, travelled in from all corners of the globe to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, to celebrate. And celebrate they did. Activities around the falls, a beautiful safari to Chobe in Botswana, cruises up and down the Zambezi and of course their peaceful ceremony on it’s banks, fish- eagle sound-track and all. I could write for pages about this wedding {and I will as I post the other parts}. It was the first one I got to add to my destination wedding life, but also one that a little piece of my heart will always belong to. But let me get on with sharing Mark & Maria’s mini engagement shoot in the African bush.
