A trip across the globe. A song written just for the occasion. A bent knee on top of a mountain. Aaron & Sarah’s engagement went something like this:
The day started off a little windy. Nervously {and secretly} Aaron was glued to the weather updates on his phone but was certain of one thing. It was happening today. And it was happening just the way he had been planning for months.
Taking Sarah on a trip all the way from Vancouver to Cape Town, with a stop in Namibia along the way, Aaron knew he had a lot of scheming and planning to do to keep this a complete surprise. With the help of a few family members and friends, Pippa from The Perfect Proposal on the ground planning in Cape Town, along with a string of “little lies” he had going for months leading up to this day, Sarah didn’t have a clue.
Sarah woke up to a slightly windy day, was treated to a spa morning of relaxation and then it was time for an adventure up Table Mountain. She was a little cold but wanted to go along with Aaron’s enthusiasm to take in the view. She waited patiently for him while he popped off to the bathroom {not realising he was secretly packing their picnic into his backpack}. She let him guide her onto the cable car {not realising the avid photographer on the same car wasn’t only taking photos of the view}. She walked with him, hand in hand around the top of Table Mountain {not realising he was finding the perfect spot}. She leant into him as he started singing her a song written just for her {thinking this was just a super romantic holiday surprise}. Only then, when she turned to face him, down on one bent knee at the edge of the mountain, over-looking beautiful Cape Town, did she realise that this was their moment. She said yes. And kissed him… a lot.
